When I read the email from our group leader informing me that our next outing was a cat café, for the first time, I immediately Googled cat café to figure out what this place was all about. The Meow Parlour is a place you can buy a pastry and also pet many cats. These cats are also available for adoption. The cats are of all shapes and sizes with unique names, some of which are shown below.
We not only were able to pet the cats but also play with them using toys the parlor provided. I really enjoyed playing with the cats as did other group members.
Some of the cats were sleeping while others were active and playing. The cats were calm for the most part except at the end where most were antsy in anticipation of receiving the dinner (which occurred after we left and was not visible to the public). Well, most of them. One of the few that waited to join the other cats was a cat named Shy Guy. Although, according to people who work there, he is no longer shy like he was when he first got there, on this day he was one of the last cats to join the rest for dinner.
After we left the Meow Parlor, we got some food at North Dumpling and then went across the street to hang out in Seward Park on a nice sunny day.
After we left the park, one my walk to the subway got a great view of the entrance to the Williamsburg Bridge. It was nice to end our Social Club outing this way as we got to enjoy a walk in the nice sunny weather.
