An Introduction to I Ching
An Introduction to I Ching, March 24th 7-9pm
by Robyn Olds
In this introductory workshop, you will gain hands-on experience with the I Ching to help you begin your relationship with this ancient text. You will learn how to cast your own hexagram and how to apply this tool of divination to your present circumstances.
The I Ching, also known as The Book of Changes, is an ancient Chinese text and is one of the traditional Chinese Taoist Classics. With the help of Swiss, Depth Psychologist, Carl Jung, the I Ching re-emerged in Western culture as a framework for understanding the meaning and significance of synchronicity and chance happenings.
From contemporary artists such as John Cage and Merce Cunningham to the development of the first binary computer program, the I Ching continues to influence the world of art, science and spirituality. In this introductory workshop, you will learn how to welcome the element of chance into your creative process.
Robyn Olds holds a Masters degree in Creative Arts Therapy from Pratt Institute. She was first introduced to the I Ching or Chinese Book of Changes in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1996. She has enjoyed it's strange and elusive guidance ever since.
